We can evaluate, plan and execute salvage and reclamation operations almost instantly due to the wealth of experience that we have on offer. Within an hour of your components landing with us, we can have a detailed plan and price for completing the works required to get you back operational within 24 hours.

Our 3.5m Cathodic stripping tank allows a quick and none destructive solution for stripping existing chrome from your components. Once this has taken place we will quickly evaluate the remaining faults and plan either a hand polishing operation or grind between centres to remove any further damage. In addition to these operations we can TIG weld scores and small damage to save grinding the entire part.

Following preparation work we have tanks capable of plating up to lengths of 15 metres.

If your components have been ground under size we have the capability to build the parts back up with chrome and grind back to size, saving you time and money in sourcing new components.

The Reclamation Service

Our salvage and reclamation service is second to none. Our expertise in this field enables us to offer advice from the beginning as to the viability of salvage and the method to adopt. "Down times" are expensive and we are tuned to respond immediately to a breakdown situation. Rapid turnaround times are often required, and every effort is made to keep down times to a minimum.

Methods of Salvage fall into two main categories:

STRIP AND RE-PLATE :

This involves anodically removing the original chrome coating, polishing up base material to remove damage or rust ingression, and replating. This method reclamation is by no means perfect but more often than not proves extremely effective. Cost and speed of turnaround is frequently the determining factor in opting for this type of process.

HEAVY DEPOSIT SALVAGE :

This procedure is adopted when the damage is too severe to contemplate the previous method. Where possible price can be given before commencement. The modus operandi usually followed involves re-centering, grinding between centres to remove damaged areas, then heavy deposit hard chrome plating to an oversize condition and re-grinding between centres back to original size.

Although turnaround can be slower, (when not using our 24hr reclamation service) deliveries of 7 to 10 days are the norm.
